Keeping up with maintenance and service is an important factor in the health of your Genesis GV80. One way that your vehicle lets you know when it's time to give your automotive service center a call is through the warning lights on your dashboard.

Knowing what these symbols mean is essential for any driver. In order to help Genesis GV80 drivers in Doylestown, Chalfont, and Warrington, PA, our team at Genesis of Doylestown has crafted this handy dashboard light guide.

Warning Light Guide

There are a couple different indicators to let you know that your 2021 Genesis GV80 is in need of service as soon as possible. When your vehicle is in need of air in the tires, has low oil pressure, or needs engine service, a light will illuminate on your dashboard. The following are a few common lights you should know:

  • Low Tire Pressure - This light is shaped like an exclamation point sitting in an oval with three tire tread dots on the bottom. The low tire pressure warning will light up when your vehicle senses that one or more tires has low air pressure. When the low tire pressure light comes on, chances are you have a leak or your tire just needs to be pumped up.
  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) - This is the Check Engine light in the 2021 Genesis GV80, shaped like the outline of a motor. This will light up when you press the engine ON button, but will go out after a few seconds with your GV80 started. If your MIL comes on while driving, or remains on after the engine is started, you should have your vehicle serviced immediately.
  • Master Warning Light - If you see an exclamation point (inside of a triangle) light up on your dash, look to your central LCD screen for specific information. This light means there's a malfunction on your pre-active seatbelt, low washer, electronic control suspension, or smart cruise control.
  • Electronic Power Steering (EPS) - See a yellow steering wheel followed by an exclamation point on your dashboard? If it stays illuminated longer than a few seconds after turning your GV80 on, it means there's a problem with your Electronic Power Steering system.

Indicator Lights

Indicator lights are different from warning lights. Indicators will illuminate when you have any of your 2021 GV80 model's helpful and exciting features activated. Some indicator lights include your Light On Indicatorturn signals, and the following:

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) - When you see a car with s-curve shapes light up on your dashboard, that's your ESC indicator. This should only light up for a few seconds when you turn your vehicle on, or when your ESC system kicks in during slippery conditions. If it lights up and stays on, there may be an ESC malfunction.
  • Drive Mode Indicators - There are five different drive mode indicator lights that will illuminate based on which mode you have selected. They read as each individual mode name-SPORT, SMART, SNOW, ECO, and INDIVIDUAL.
  • Immobilizer Indicator - Shaped like the side silhouette of a car with a key inside, this light will come on when you do not have your smart key present and are not able to start the engine. This light also comes on for a few seconds when you start your vehicle.
