2020 G80 vs 2020 Q50: Performance Specifications

To get the ball rolling, the 2020 Genesis G80 features a high-powered 3.8L V6 engine. This engine generates an impressive 311 horsepower and comes standardly paired with the 8-speed automatic transmission. This transmission boasts SHIFTRONIC® technology and paddle shifters to customize your drive. All-wheel drive is also available for this model, allowing you to elevate your traction during challenging road conditions.

As for the 2020 INFINITI Q50, you'll find a similar engine, the 3.0L V6 that also produces up to 300 horsepower. However, this powertrain is melded to a 7-speed automatic transmission giving you one less gear to play with while driving. This may make handling not as smooth as in the G80. However, AWD is available for this model as well.

G80 vs Q50: Luxurious Interior Features

As luxury sedans, it comes as no surprise that both the 2020 Genesis G80 and the 2020 INFINITI Q50 offer a variety of premium interior features. Both vehicles come standardly equipped with dual-zone front automatic climate control systems, which allow you to set a desired temperature and go, without fiddling with the controls in order to get comfortable.

Just like in its performance, the G80 goes the extra mile in terms of luxurious interior features. Standard in this model is leather upholstery as well as heated driver's and front passenger seats. Even in the base trim of this model, you can opt for cooled front seats as well.

Unfortunately, in the Q50, you'll have to upgrade for leather upholstery and heated front seats as they don't come standard. Additionally, the Q50 doesn't offer cooled front seats at all, so you'll have to rely on the air conditioner to get comfortable.

G80 vs Q50: Advanced Safety Systems

Both the 2020 Genesis G80 and the 2020 INFINITI Q50 offer the most advanced safety features on the market. You'll be able to drive confidently in both vehicles with features like Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and High Beam Assist.

The G80 had a leg up on the Q50, though, because all these features and more are offered standardly in the G80. These features are available in the Q50, but you'll have to upgrade to access them.

One additional safety features you'll have on your side in the G80 is Driver Attention Warning. This advanced system analyzes your driving patterns while you drive. When it detects changes in those patterns due to fatigue or distraction, it'll use audio and visual alerts to get you refocused or to let you know it's time to take a break from driving.
